NAGS HEAD, NC (September 29, 2012)—Michael O’Connor, host of Movie Style on the REELZ channel, treats Hollywood stars and starlets to millions of dollars of jewelry to view and select from as they plan their red carpet attire. On Sept. 20 and 21, with the Emmy Award ceremonies just days away, he thrilled his many celebrity guests with a spectacular array of top designers’ jewels, including pieces designed and made by Gail Kowalski of Jewelry by Gail in Nags Head. During news interviews and print publicity he toted the special beauty of Ms. Kowalski design. Repeatedly he pointed out the originality of her hand-turned treasures as well as her use of color, so popular in current celebrity-worn jewels. Stars and fashion stylists thrilled at the opportunity to wear the beautiful choices displayed before them. Kate Flannery of the television series The Office expressed delight as she tried on a pair of Gail’s vine-tendril drop pearl earrings. Kearran Giovanni of the series Major Crimes was a vision of beauty in a Kowalski necklace including a gold neckpiece named “Ribbon Collar” and a pendant of gold embracing a myriad of bright pink Cobalto Calcite crystals. GCB star Marisa Nichols was enchanted by Kowalski’s Princess of the Sea Amethyst Earrings wrapped up in a white gold “vine tendril seaweed” design. Other stars captivated by Jewelry by Gail design included Matthew Fahey of MTV’s Awkward, Hanna Cornett of CBS’s Hawaii Five-O, and Jennifer Aspen of ABC’s GCB. This latest accolade adds to an extensive list of honors Gail has achieved. In addition to her two Johnson Matthey Platinum Awards for Excellence in Platinum Design, she was a winner of a Debeers Diamonds Today award, a finalist in a Diamonds International competition, a participant in World Gold Council selections for an international fashion show in Basel, Switzerland, and a winner of numerous Platinum Guild International honors and awards showcasing her designs in New York and Hollywood. In 2011 her original designs appeared at both the 2011 Academy Awards Style Lab/AGTA jewelry suite as well as the Emmys AGTA/Style Lab jewelry suite where both Andrea Osvart of The Transporter and Stacey Tookey of So You Think You Can Dance were photographed wearing her designs. In January or 1012 Gail’s work was once again in Hollywood, with Julie Benz and Maria Sansone captivated as they posed at the 2012 Golden Globes Style Labs.
