NAGS HEAD, NC (February 22, 2011)— Outer Banks jewelry has made its way to a prime time television series. On Sunday, February 20 Eva Longoria did the honors as she wore a pair of earrings crafted by Outer Banks designer Gail Kowalski of Jewelry by Gail in two complete scenes on the popular network show Desperate Housewives.
The earrings were Kowalski’s long “Grace” design with bright lime-green Peridot gems accented with a gold vine wrapping. Famed celebrity Hollywood stylist Michael O’Connor remarked on Monday, “They looked amazing last night. It was wonderful that they were featured in two separate scenes!” In known history, this is the first time an Outer Bank’s jewelry designer has been honored in this way.
In the show Eva Longoria’s character was returning to her hometown. She stepped from a lime-green cab into the sunlight with her hair swept up away from her face. She wore a bright lime-green satiny high-collared coat over a dress of the same color and fabric. Moving in an animated display she went through the scene with the sun catching the sparkle and color of the gemstones. The earring design was easily recognizable as Jewelry by Gail.
In the second scene Eva’s coat was off, and she was in a small local cafe´surrounded by hometown admirers. The bright lime-green of her sleeveless and low-square-cut bodice dress complemented the earrings beautifully as she swayed this way and that in confusion over the unexpected adulation the townsfolk were giving her. As she gave autographs and posed for pictures she looked stunningly beautiful.
There is another Desperate Housewives celebrity who enjoys jewelry designed by Ms. Kowalski. Nicolette Sheridan who starred on the show through Season 5 has a ruby “Bow Pendant” she received as part of the 2006 Academy Awards Platinum Guild International Jewelry Suite. Since then she has been seen in Hollywood wearing the pendant, and photos of her wearing it have shown up in publications such as People Magazine.
