Trillian cut purple Spinel is set in a graceful swirl of gold for a stunningly artistic ring. The open setting allows plenty of light to reach this fine stone and release the deep magenta fire within. 

Spinel is favored by gem dealers and collectors because of its brilliance, hardness and wide array of color. Found in rich reds which mimic fine ruby, Spinel also presents in lovely shades of pink, purple and blue, though blue - or cobalt Spinel - is quite rare.

Actually fine Spinel is now more rare than the ruby it imitates, though more affordable because so few consumers know of it and have had an opportunity to learn to appreciate it. Now you know - lucky you!
